Job Summary/Description: **** 11 News, Mesa County’s dominant multi *** news organization seeks a Business Development Consultant for our dynamic sales team. The primary responsibility of the Business Development Consultant is to develop and sell creative marketing solutions on **** ( *** ), **** ( *** ), OJCT (CW), NKCO (METV), and OKCO ( *** ) with an emphasis on digital opportunities. The ideal candidate must have the ability to strategize and negotiate multi-platform marketing and advertising projects. We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter and can thrive in a fast-paced multi-platform environment.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• You will research opportunities in your market, generate or follow through on sales leads both warm and cold, and manage an active pipeline of potential revenue
• You will own the full sales cycle from prospect to close and meet new business revenue and budget goals
• You will be an expert in marketing, and provide expert insights, recommendations, and consultancy to build productive and long-lasting relationships
• You will maintain a consistent pipeline, build pipeline velocity, and forecast with accuracy monthly
• Design, write, and present marketing presentations
• Meet or exceed sales expectations, goals, and budgets, and manage your own book of sales revenue for retention and growth
• Manage your book of business using multiple CRM and client management tools and software
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with all ****’s departments and support staff
Qualifications/Requirements:• College degree or some college experience preferred but can train the right candidate
• Ability to think and lead strategically
• Proven problem solver
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Understand and operate on policies as outlined in the *** Employee Handbook
• Effective prospecting and proven revenue pipeline-building skills

• Must be comfortable selling to, challenging, and building trust-based, value-added relationships with executives, specifically with Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Sales Officer, Sales Operations, and Marketing VP’s and Managers
• Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• A pre-employment motor vehicle record verification
• Demonstrate prospecting and presentation skills, develop strong client relationships, and meet sales activity goals
• Achieve budgeted revenue goals regularly
• Demonstrate initiative, self-motivated and strong organization skills
• Works as a team member within the sales department and throughout the organization
