The Lifestyle Show / News Producer is a dual position that writes and produces daily Lifestyle show items; as well as News content items for 7am newscast, deciding the order in which stories will be aired, writes teases and other content, times edited segments, edits video, and posts lifestyle show video to the website.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produces lifestyle show for broadcast across all platforms
• Produces 7am newscast
• Writes and orders stories for the lifestyle show and newscast
• Writes and approves scripts
• Balances news, clients and feature content to create compelling news broadcasts
• Edits video
• Writes lifestyle show stories for the website and other e *** platforms
• Interacts with viewers and users on social *** sites within Nexstar Policies
• Shoots video for commercial and promotional efforts
• Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, video sequences, desired effects, and shot requirements
• Sets up, composes and executes video shots
• Organizes and strings together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or instructions for commercial and promotional efforts
• Reviews assembled footage on screens or monitors to determine whether corrections are necessary
• Trims recorded segments to specified lengths and reassembles segments into sequences that present stories with maximum effect
• Determines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete spots
• Sets up and operates computer editing systems, electronic titling systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units to produce a final product
• Selects and combines the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements and Skills :

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Editing experience is a plus (Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects)
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to work M-F 5am-2pm with a one-hour lunch

**** ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : High stress, high energy environment with deadline pressures. Some travel may be required on rare occasions.

• Develop and increase sales volume for both TV and digital revenue, with a focus on digital sales
• Prospect, qualify, develop, close and grow NEW business
• Continue to learn and implement new strategies and products
• Responsible for order entry, contracts, follow-up and collections
• Play a role in the production of client's creative elements
• Be an advocate for our products and programs
• Implement strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals

We want you to bring your experience, creativity and storytelling skills to our multi-platform coverage. This Multi- *** Journalist is responsible for developing content for morning news and later in the day. You must have the desire and ability to uncover unique, enterprising stories, and tell those stories in an engaging presentation.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Report live for morning newscast daily – excellent live, demonstrative skills in day-to-day and breaking news coverage
• Post to digital and social platforms daily and use in newsgathering process and presentation
• Shoot, write, and edit compelling coverage for all platforms
• Strong journalistic ethics, news judgment, and decision-making
• Strong organizational skills, planning ahead, and pivoting seamlessly

The Production Assistant is responsible for various television production duties required to record scenes for live and recorded broadcasts.

• Composes and frames camera shots, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors
• Adjusts positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure and lighting as requested by the director
• Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts
• Operates remote cameras during live broadcasts
• Confers with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements
• Sets up cameras and related equipment
• Tests, cleans, maintains and repairs camera equipment
• Produces graphics for newscast
