THE UNITED STATES ARMY FIELD BAND
is the Department of the Army’s premier touring musical representative. Its mission is to develop positive connections on behalf of the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, and the United States through live music and multimedia performances, media, television productions, and emergent technologies. The Field Band has appeared in all fifty states and in more than thirty countries on four continents. The organization’s five performing components, the Concert Band, Soldiers’ Chorus, Jazz Ambassadors, Commercial Music Group, and Six String Soldiers, each travel more than 100 days annually. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Experienced and imaginative video editor, shooter, and storyteller with a strong foundation in visual design that develops content for playback during live-concert events and social media.

EDITING (50%)
Create and implement video content for display on IMAG screens during live performances
Work with producers to managing multiple shows and projects
Multicam editing for various aspect ratios
Update and enhance existing deliverables with established templates and documents

DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER AND STORYTELLER (40%)

Do you love pop culture and entertainment news? What about trends, viral videos, and social *** ? We're looking for a Sr. Associate Producer to execute creative content around a variety of topics including entertainment news, human interest, and celebrity features. Reporting to the Supervising Producer and Producer, as well as working closely with our Production teams, this role will be responsible for the execution of daily editorial content covering an array of topics in a variety of forms, from games to transformations to interviews. Willingness to have fun and take risks is key in this position!

From day in and day out producing to red carpets and award shows, this person will be able to work collaboratively within a small team to create engaging television. This position will help execute segments in studio, be able to assist in the field and at offsite interviews as directed, and work well within a team environment. Must be comfortable working across all *** including on air, digital, and social *** .

Essential Responsibilities -

Help execute creative segments under the direction of the Supervising Producer and Producer as assigned, as well as work closely with Production team members to ensure budget expectations are met, staffing needs are communicated, and post/deliverables are executed on time.
Assist Producer and delegate to Production Assistants as necessary.
Be resourceful in the procurement of props, photos, music, and video elements that meet clearance/budget requirements, and book/prepare guests.
Assist in the production of original and engaging editorial pieces, including supporting digital content when necessary, for broadcast.
Participate in content creation from conceptualization through the various stages of execution, to include: Research/Studio/Field Work/Post and Voiceover direction.
Assist in booking guests and human interest stories.
Identify and pitch story opportunities, finding the unique story angle while maintaining factual accuracy.
Must demonstrate pop culture passion, entertainment news authority and active participation and awareness of the importance of social *** to the entertainment news/daytime tv genre.

Work closely with the Executive Producer, Anchor, Senior Broadcast Producer, Bureau Chiefs, Senior Producers, Producers and Correspondents to support the strategic vision of *** Evening News! This person comes into every single day with an eagerness to find compelling ways to tell and evolve stories with excellence and plays an active role in the editorial process by leading and preparing plans that are comprehensive and represent the depth, breadth and diversity of our global news organization.

This role will play a key role in supporting multiplatform content and is a key contributor who demonstrates the ability to produce eye-catching and informational journalism in live and tape formats. This requires you to be editorially rigorous, collaborative, and possess a track record of thriving in a fast paced newsroom while keeping calm during high-stress situations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Spearhead the expansion of the program's presence on multiple platforms including broadcast, streaming, and digital.
Help drive the daily editorial direction and programming of the show by regularly working with the news desk, correspondents, and producers in the field and at *** News bureaus worldwide in conjunction with the senior staff.
Lead a team of producers, associate producers, bookers, broadcast associates, editors, and graphics artists.
Find opportunities to extend the *** Evening News brand and content to go deeper into stories and key issues in a multiplatform environment.
Keep tabs on trending, talkable, and topical stories and find ways to incorporate them into our coverage.
Develop new and maintain existing franchise opportunities, like MoneyWatch and Healthwatch, and incorporate into our daily programming.
Collaborate with other *** News shows and beats to use, repurpose, and repackage content in compelling ways.
Innovate new presentation methods and tactics to keep the show fresh and relevant in an evolving *** landscape.
Supervise live and tape segment production from pitch to execution.
Plan future segments that are topical, interesting, and engaging.
Contribute to broadcast strategy sessions and implement appropriate follow-up.

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience as a senior television news producer, supervising producer or senior producer at a major broadcast network, cable news network or digital news company.
Extensive control room and rundown management experience for a live broadcast.
Successful management track record.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in journalism or a related field of study is preferred.
Ability to recognize news stories that have a high potential of becoming compelling television or streaming pieces and segments.
Deep knowledge of current events, politics, national and international news
Excellent understanding of broadcast, digital, and social production.
Deep familiarity with existing and emerging social *** platforms.
Experience making editorial decisions and prioritizing resources to cover key stories, under deadlines while coordinating all aspects of production.
Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience writing and editing package and producing live segments for broadcast television.

Hiring Salary Range: $230,000.00 - 275,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
