The successful candidate will be a collaborator who transcends all newsroom workgroups - to ensure our stories come to life with the best possible visuals. We are seeking an editor who is familiar with a diverse array of video editing techniques. For example - video used in a fast-paced nightly sportscast will be cut differently than a serious 3-camera anchor interview. What's more - your work will be showcased in a variety of *** : television newscasts, digital *** , specials & documentaries, and social *** posts.

Our editing team uses Edius to cut video, but experience on similar non-linear editing platforms like Avid or Final Cut is also acceptable. You should be familiar with basic journalistic editing functions, as well as advanced techniques and effects that can enhance traditional video. This would include products in the Adobe Suite. The successful candidate will possess superior editorial judgement, work well in a deadline-driven environment, and be capable of editing video quickly, accurately and creatively. Job Summary/Description:

**** seeks a dynamic Web Producer/Video Editor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts and online content. This position will also work closely with the Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and news staff on the newscast and web/social *** content. In this position, you will edit video, work within the newscasts as a writer and writer/associate producer, and also develop content for all our digital platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Edit video on a deadline, working with the Producer towards a creative and informative newscast with emphasis on the viewers' interests
• Produce content for ****.com, and promote our coverage on our social *** feeds, funneling the audience to our site and our broadcast
• Adapt to breaking news and developing stories
• Communicate with anchors, field crews, and control room staff

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or a related field is desired
• 1-2 years of experience producing newscasts or news content online
• Must keep up with local, state, national and international events
• Organized; able to work with many personality types
• This position requires someone who can exercise discretion, best judgment, and has solid journalistic/ethical skills
