Director for Unscripted Series Development, not an internal position at ID.

Position Overview:
We're seeking an experienced professional to lead the creative development of new unscripted series. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience as a seller (producer/studio) and producer, with a comprehensive understanding of the creative and business/legal processes from conception to launch.

Key Responsibilities:
Development of Original Ideas: Lead the development of original unscripted concepts, with a focus on various formats such as true crime, adventure, mystery, and dating shows, tailored for both broadcast and streaming platforms.

Pitching and Selling: Take charge of pitching and selling unscripted projects to potential buyers, leveraging proven creative instincts and strong interpersonal skills to secure deals.

Production Oversight: Manage all aspects of development pilots, presentations, and sizzles, including the recruitment of showrunners, directors, field producers, and editors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Creative Instincts: Demonstrated ability to generate, develop, and sell unscripted projects, with a successful track record of bringing ideas to fruition.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills, essential for engaging with talent, partners, and buyers.

Industry Relationships: Established network and deep relationships with buyers, with a history of sales that have translated into on-screen success.

Location: Based in-person in the Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys area, with occasional travel required for development shoots.

Additional Responsibilities:

Talent and Partner Management: Manage relationships with talent and key partners to ensure smooth collaboration throughout the development and production processes.

Creative and Business Judgement: Exercise excellent creative and business judgment, staying informed on entertainment trends and developing innovative original formats.

Development Process Management: Oversee all aspects of development, from ideation to deal-making, including the creation of sales materials, production management, and supervision of development materials.

Cross-Departmental Liaison: Collaborate with other departments, including Marketing, Publicity, Research, Digital, Social, and Business and Legal Affairs, to ensure alignment and seamless execution of projects.
