Creative Director/Post-Production Supervisor - Monumental Sports & Entertainment (Washington, DC)

Monumental Sports & Entertainment (“MSE”) is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in North America with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. MSE owns and operates four professional sports teams: the NBA’s Washington Wizards, NHL’s Washington Capitals, WNBA’s Washington Mystics and the AFL’s Washington Valor, to start operations in the 2017 season and the anticipated acquisition of a D-League NBA Basketball team before the 2018-19 season. The company also owns and operates the Verizon Center, the premier sports and entertainment venue in the mid-Atlantic, based in the center of Washington, D.C. Position Overview: This position will provide creative direction for the Post-Production team, and manage the post-production staff and workflow.

Responsibilities:
•Act as creative lead for post-production team and provide creative direction on all content in post-production pipeline.
•Supervise staff to generate, develop and pitch content styles, looks, and other ideas to Productions team and clients, both for current and future short-form and long-form post-production initiatives.
•Manage production graphics team as they develop various styles & looks for content deliverables, coordinating with Productions team and clients to ensure all graphic elements have been approved in advance of distribution.
•Oversee hiring, scheduling, supervision and management of post-production staff, including full-time and part-time staff.
•In conjunction with support staff, supervise and allocate workflow among post-production staff to maximize quality and efficiency, create training opportunities, and develop a work-team structure that emphasizes efficiency, creativity, and career development.
•Manage post-production workflows to ensure that content pieces are delivered to agreed quality and creative standards, on agreed timelines and budgets.
•Create priorities for post-production team to follow, making sure production goals are being met on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
•Participate in editorial staff meetings in order to maintain workflow efficiencies throughout all phases of content production, including managing communication with assigned staff so that directions and parameters are clearly defined prior to the start of all projects and throughout production and delivery.
•Make sure client approval processes are followed and all deadlines are met throughout each phase of post-production.
•Review content rough, fine and locked cuts, confirming client editorial guidelines have been met, and that content is submitted for approval in as finished-form as possible in order to maintain workflow efficiencies throughout the post-production process.
•In conjunction with senior staff, develop post-production budgets and processes to track project-based expenses.
•Direct post-production communications as primary post-production liaison to rest of Productions team.
•Work with Production Management and Production staff to monitor and approve changes to production and staff schedules, content deliveries and overages.
•Troubleshoot projects during all phases of production to ensure that workflows remain efficient and operational issues are minimized.
•Proactively seek out means to maintain and maximize resources during all phases of post-production.
•Supervise, maintain and make recommendations on Post-Production infrastructure and processes to maximize efficiencies, including edit stations, media storage and archival solutions.
•Work in conjunction with Supervising Producers and Media Manager to create final content masters at the end of every project for inclusion into the Monumental Network Archive.
•Work in conjunction with Post-Production and Production Management teams to ensure that all relevant post-production documentation (e.g. music cue sheets, 3rd party footage, releases, and more) are properly compiled upon completion of projects.
•Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree.
•Seven to ten years experience as a Creative Director/Post Production Supervisor/Senior Editor/Senior Graphics Artist.
•Expertise in long-form and short-form content editing, graphic design and post-production under tight deadlines.
•Knowledge of various content formats, live event/sports programming, digital / OTT content production, post-production hardware and software, and post-production budgets.
•Senior-level participation in team-based post-production infrastructure, including managing teams of Editors, Motion Graphic Artists, Media Managers, Assistant Editors and Production Assistants, a plus.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•At least five years of experience in managing 10+ employees.
•Ability to multi-task and manage business relationships in a professional and confidential manner.
•Excellent time management, interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
•Strong attention to detail is required.
•Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
•Availability to work a flexible schedule and to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
