OVERVIEW:

Brainstorm Creative Resources is a recruiting and staffing firm that places creative and editorial services professionals into freelance and full-time positions with employers in and around Washington, DC.

DESCRIPTION:

A well-established advocacy and lobbying organization with a focus on international affairs is looking to engage a Live Events Project Manager in a three-month-long, on-site assignment that will be focused on the development of programming for the organization's annual conference.

Our client is seeking the assistance of an early- to mid-level, events and/or video production professional who is organized and detail-oriented, and can execute a creative vision. Great people skills are a must.

The conference, which will be held in Washington, DC in late March, welcomes more than fifteen-thousand participants annually, from all 50 states and all over the world. Guests and speakers include world leaders, among them the President of the United States.

While this position is currently defined as “temporary,” and we are not actively offering it as a “temporary-to-permanent” transition opportunity, we can share that our client his hired temporary Brainstorm Creative Resources employees into full-time positions in years past.

POSITION DETAILS:

* Project manage all programming for multiple stage and floor productions (incl. speakers, entertainment, etc.) from concept to execution, with a special focus on non-plenary sessions at the conference.
* Create and maintain event documentation to help with planning, coordination and execution of non-plenary sessions, and manage hand off process from pre-event planning staff to on-site execution team.
* Assist in the project management of recorded vignettes and live event stage elements.
* Research potential vignette stories and characters.
* Coordinate communication with speakers during the lead up to the conference, including: gathering multimedia assets, coordinating rehearsal needs, etc.
* Manage scripts during the pre-rehearsal process, including coordinating edits with writers.
* Coordinate visual asset research and delivery. Secure rights to photos and other assets from photo and video archives and databases.
* Assemble component script, asset, show, and production elements.
* During the conference, on-site responsibilities include overseeing the successful coordination and execution of non-plenary sessions across the conference.

HOURS / LOCATION:

We are announcing this opportunity on December 10, 2016 and we are ideally looking for someone to start immediately. The latest date on which we can have someone start in this role is January 20. Full-time work will continue through the first week of April. Our client’s workplace will be closed between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

We are only interested in receiving applications and inquiries from individuals who can work:

(3) a regular M-F, 9am-6pm schedule;
(4) on-site at our client’s workplace in NW, DC;
(5) through the first week of April.

Individuals who can only work part-time or who are interested in working from home should not apply. Also, some work on Saturdays will be required during February and March.

Brainstorm Creative Resources pays an overtime rate of 1.5x the base rate for all hours worked over 40 each week.

Our client’s workplace is easily accessible via car, Metrorail and Metrobus.

RATE:

We are suggesting a pay rate range of between $25 and $40/hour, which we believe is in-line with the position requirements. This broad range reflects our interest in hearing from individuals who could be broadly defined as early- to mid-career, and more importantly -- who offer clearly relevant credentials and experience. The pay rate range offers an opportunity to earn the equivalent of an annual salary of $60K to $80K, during the three-month engagement.

The actual rate offered will be commensurate with your experience and will be largely based on the following factors: credentials as detailed in your resume, your interview experiences with Brainstorm Creative Resources and/or our client, and quality of reference providers and references provided.
