Rota6 is a full service video production company based in Brooklyn that specializes in documentary storytelling. We’re currently looking for a Post Production Manager- someone eager to be part of a small but quickly growing team.
The Post Production Manager will be an integral part of the post production process, overseeing all aspects of post production including managing editors and AEs, maintaining equipment, data, and software and ingesting footage as it comes in. He or she is great with Adobe software and troubleshooting and has a strong background in editing. He or she will work with the producers to determine the specs of each project, will handle all new hire requests for post production, and will be responsible for the time allocations of all studio artists and editors to ensuring that projects are delivered at the highest quality on time and on spec.
This is a full time position.
Role and Responsibilities:
Resourcing and Scheduling
Meet with producers to be briefed on each project and then allocate projects to appropriate editors
Outreach to vendors for Post (VO agencies, transcription houses, etc)
Ensure each freelancer is set up correctly within Rota6 (assign to editing stations, passwords and paperwork)
Schedule and maintain all editors’ and designers’ time and project schedule, managing the post workflow process with editors working in our studio and remotely
Recruit and maintain relations with freelancers
Post team oversight
Manage and execute each project in post, including the workflow, schedule, and teams
Liaison between producers/accounts team and editors, designers and AEs
Prepare notes for editors
Oversee the feedback and revision process to ensure quality is upheld and projects remain in scope
Assist in story producing and troubleshooting during edit
Ensure each project has been fully delivered to the requested specs
Point of contact for Editor IT/System needs
Administer all technical aspects of the studio (maintaining editing stations and storage of archival drives, software/hardware upgrades/needs, bug fixes, etc)
Maintain data management system
Ingest footage and prepare projects for post team
Upload and deliver videos to clients
Lead on our archive system (identifying projects to archive, prepping and/or restoring projects from archive)
Ensure all Rota6 policies for exporting and archiving are carried through for each project
5+ years experience in post production, working closely with producers, creatives, editors and graphic artists in a production studio or advertising agency
Strong technical skills in Premiere, After Effects, Encoder & Mac OSX.
