The *** Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team is responsible for supporting clients across *** (TWDC) including *** Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP), *** Entertainment (e.g., *** , The *** *** , *** Theatrical, etc.), *** ( *** Networks, *** +), and Corporate Finance. DDSI leverages technology, data analytics, optimization, and statistical modeling to build innovative tools that shape business decisions and drive business value.
Application Engineers on the DDSI team design, build, and ship strategic software applications that enable internal business decision-makers to view and manage data related to decision science workflows. These applications range from web-based end-user experiences to RESTful APIs and orchestrated data services.
As an Application Engineer you will be part of a team that is enhancing web-based analytic platforms for *** 's *** Networks. This role requires a strong computing background, attention to detail, a platform mindset, and a collaborative work ethic. Candidates should have a natural curiosity to understand the "why" behind business performance to deliver creative solutions to complex problems.
Your Role:
- Design, build, and ship new features of a cutting-edge software platform that serves strategic internal business decision-makers for *** 's *** Networks
- Collaborate with other Application Engineers to build application pages, services, and components as specified, prioritized, and scheduled by Product leads
- Collaborate with Product Managers to understand business opportunities and requirements
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to create user-friendly interfaces for science model inputs & outputs serving end-to-end solutions
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to build data storage, retrieval, and archiving routines
- Propose creative user experiences through working prototypes that meet business and application requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience building full-stack web platforms on cloud infrastructure
- Ability to build software that addresses complex data problems with user-friendly solutions
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities, anticipate problems, adapt to changing requirements, and resolve technical issues
- Ability to work with other team members to review technical project plans and estimate task effort
- Ability to communicate, collaborate and compromise with other team members and leaders
- Ability to test new features, identify possible issues, and provide solutions to complex problems.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software development with expertise in at least one language
- 2+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
- 2+ years of experience with Python
- Experience with Django
- Experience building application pages and services that process large and complex volumes of data with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Data Mining, Mathematics or equivalent

- Experience with Next.js
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD processes
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience with UX/UI design
- Proficient in AWS web application architecture
- Proficient in optimizing front-end and back-end applications for large and complex datasets
- Experience working in a team software development lifecycle process
- Experience with analytic applications
- Relevant industry knowledge ( *** , entertainment, theme parks, resorts, etc.)
- Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent
