Dyson Valentine's Day shoot featured all Dyson hair care products. I designed and created renderings of a high top desk with adjustable shelves that can be used for standing and seated demonstrations from Dyson Experts. I hired a set builder to fabricate the piece. Kept an inventory log of all Dyson products, unpacked and repacked products in original packaging. The Art Dept hung a 12'x12' printed backdrop which added a modern style to the set. Hired Art Dept crew, managed the budget, sourced and purchased additional set dressing. Managed crew, pick ups and returns. Dressed the set, on set dresser, collaborated with clients and director to achieve most visually appealing set for showcasing Dyson products. Created the final actual budget, CC summary of all purchases and rentals.

Set Decorator Leaf Home

BCI Acrylic — Advertising — Leaf Home Details
12/23 – 12/23

I collaborated with the Director to design 3 bathroom location sets swapping out 5 different finishes for a total of 15 different looks. The bathrooms styles were modern, traditional and contemporary. After the tech scout I started to source set dressing keeping in mind the styles and finishes of each bathroom. I wanted the sets to have a realistic feel to them so layering was important. I incorporated live plants, art, sculpture and textiles in the design plan. I hired crew, managed department, budget, sourced and purchased all the set dressing and dressed all the sets. At wrap, we sorted all returns, purchases and rentals to be shipped and returned. I created a final budget, CC summary of all purchases and rentals, submitted time cards to the client in a timely fashion.

Production Designer Bottle Rocket Media

Dyson — Advertising — Dyson Details
9/23 – 9/23

I was hired by Bottle Rocket Media to Production Design two Dyson commercials for their hair care line. I researched some design styles that would highlight the design and quality of the Dyson brand. I landed on a tiered seating configuration that would allow the talent and spokesperson to be able to interact with each other while demonstrating each Dyson product. I hired a set builder to build the tiered seating to my specs. A soft white concrete flooring was added to give a cohesive "white party" look to the composition. The studio walls were painted white to give an elegant look to the set. I hired art department crew for the prep, wrap, shoot and on set dresser to assist with the Dyson products. It was important to document continuity and pay special attention to the each Dyson product during shooting and after each take. I collaborated with the Dyson agency, the production company and the Dyson spokesperson to ensure that the products, set and talent were perfect for each take. We wrapped the set, completed returns, and turned in the final budget. I was happy to report that the art department came in under budget and the clients and production company were very happy with our work.

Art Director Transistor Studios

Screamin' Sicilian — Advertising — Transistor Studios Details
8/23 – 9/23

Transistor Studios hired me in August 2023 to collaborate with the Exec Producers and Director for a Screamin' Sicilian pizza commercial. There were a lot of moving parts to this project. I scouted the location which was a commercial food studio which had 2 working kitchens. The challenge was to find a visually appealing solution to dividing the 2 kitchens while shooting. One to be used for the set while the other for prep. I designed a white and stainless steel slate wall with hanging oversized commercial cookware as set dressing. Translating the brand through set dressing was integral using colors, mustaches and prop food used in each pizza. I hired a prop maker to fabricate a custom hero mustache trophy and a set builder to build a 10'x8' movable wall. The art department I hired consisted of set dressers, on set dresser, leadman and buyer. We procured Italian baroque style set dressing and frames, painted them gold, framed slogans and photos and mounted them to movable wall and through the set. I designed the furniture plan, the set dressing for the kitchen set, worked with the food stylists for all continuity and re-sets. We shot and wrapped out all in the same day. The production company, and the agency, Blue Chip, and the client were very happy with the Art Department's work. I managed the wrap and returns and submitted the PC and CC receipts along with the (under budget) final actual budget.

Set Decorator Married At First Sight (Season 18)

Lifetime — TV — Kinetic Content Details
6/23 – 6/23

As the Art Director for MAFS S18, I was hired to decorate three sets on location to be used as contestant interview rooms. The location was white and gold and very ornate so the set dressing design needed to reflect this elegant aesthetic. Each interview room needed to be dressed differently, but stylistically be cohesive. I sourced furniture, decorative arts, greens, and area rugs. Starting with Dr. Pepper, I created a feminine look with soft tones of creams and golds with an orange pop of color in vases, decorative bowls, sculptures, and colored glassware. The seating was bar height in gold and damask upholstered textile. Next was Pastor Calvin's room which I designed with a more masculine spin on the same concept. Using bronze and off white set dressing I decorated with pottery, sculpture, vases and injected blue glassware as a pop of color to catch the natural light of the location. The third set was Dr. Pia, which I was able to add a more modern spin on the same color palette with a pop of wood tones to the cream and gold theme. Using mid century modern pottery, geometric shapes in sculptures, area rug, seating and greens I created an inviting environment for the contestants. I hired a small art department crew to assist in the pick ups, set dressing and wrap. I was on set and worked closely with the director and EP's.

Set Decorator Night Disco Died

Film (Feature-length) — Hidden Light Productions Details
5/23 – 5/23

Night Disco Died is a documentary about the history of Chicago House Music. I worked closely with the Production Designer to research Chicago in the 1970-1980's to ensure authenticity in creating sets, set dressing, locations and props. As the Decorator I hired crew of Leadman, Set Dressers, On Set Dresser and Prop Master, tracked the Set Dec budget, created labor schedules, managed the department, tech scouted and opened all sets. Sourcing period correct set dressing and props was crucial in dressing the re-cre sets. I shopped at local prop houses, vintage stores, antique dealers, auctions, vintage DJ equipment shops, thrifted and pulled from my personal collection to create realistic environments. I dressed all the sets, emphasized life layering, sourced, purchased and rented all set dressing and props, wrapped sets, managed all rental returns, prepared a wrap book and final budget.
