I was the Gaffer on this thesis film. Prior to production I did a complete scout of our locations: checking the circuit diagrams for the buildings to assure our proposed lighting setups would have enough ampage, as well as metering levels of ambient light throughout the different locations. I assisted the DoP in tweaking final light set-ups during the pre-light, and commanded an efficient and professional G&E team throughout the production.

Work with the director to develop a visual motif for the film. Assist in the final selection of filming locations. Create the shot list for the film with the director. Design and execute lighting diagrams. Hire a camera and G&E crew for production. Coordinate with producers to obtain gear necessary for production. Ensure the smooth and professional execution while filming.

Set up various lights and assist in dressing of the set before operating a camera for a five hour live session.
