Cliff Bumgardner

As a producer, I solve creative problems. As an ACD, I make brand new ones. A hefty mix of left- and right- brain tasks, my job is to be the connective tissue between the creative and technical challenges of high-end video production and our client’s strategic marketing goals. I see projects from discovery to final delivery, writing, pitching, directing, and guiding production teams to deliver projects on-brief and under-budget. I coordinate production schedules, pre-production tasks, animation and visual effects integration, and manage the internal and client revision process – all against the backbone of brand goals and cross-platform integrated marketing strategies.

In the Audience Development division, I worked with a ragtag team of weirdos to orbit the CBC universe, serving all divisions of the company to incubate new ideas, try out platforms, and create new products, including the IMDb-TV documentary series’ “Moment of Truth” and WRAL.com’s record-breaking expose “This is Human Trafficking.” My role saw me step into nearly every task along the production pipeline, from from development, pitching, and sales, through post and distribution – and I even got to try out my best podcast voice as writer/ producer of the original true-crime series “Follow the Truth.”

As a gun for hire I’ve tackled cinematic bandits of all different sorts, serving as a writer, director, shooter, and editor on a range of projects including corporate advertising, narrative films, television commercials, and motion graphics animation. During this time I also wrote and published my first novella, Dreams 4 Sale, and began production on an original documentary film titled I Sell Nostalgia. Oh, and I helped shoot a Lynyrd Skynrd documentary. Yep, it was just as odd as you’d think.
