As the nightside web producer at KOIN-TV I managed the station's entire online presence by writing news stories, copy editing, sending push alerts and posting to various social media platforms. I developed and pitched numerous long-form pieces on subjects of interest including environmental issues and politics. I reported from the field during a variety of musical events including Sasquatch! Music Festival and Portland Blues Fest. I became well-versed in everything Portland -- from our mayor's reputation with the homeless to the iconic restaurants shutting their doors to make way for luxury high rises (that no one can afford to live in).

I developed digital production skills during my time at Annenberg TV News by managing the news station's website, pitching stories, building story shells, writing and copy editing reports, creating relevant graphics and promoting material through various social media outlets. I also produced a weekly 30-minute newscast that taught me the ins and outs of creating run downs and writing for TV in addition to honing my skills as a video editor and graphic designer.

At CNN I played an integral role on the news network's west coast assignment desk by coordinating coverage, conducting interviews via email or phone and assigning stories. I also pitched many of my own stories, worked as a field producer on a regular basis and wrote articles that were published on CNN.com.

At TMZ I participated in daily morning meetings, assisted photographers and producers with story pitches and helped manage social media platforms for the newly-developed program, TMZ Live. I also learned valuable investigative skills by working with sources to uncover and report on relevant and newsworthy cases.
