• Investigate and produce multi-dimensional enterprise, in-depth, analytical stories in text, photography and video as a WCPO Insider reporter, focusing on addiction, immigration, faith, foster care and poverty and how it affects the people in the community. I tell the story outside the box and use every tool to do it. • Produce award-winning coverage of the heroin epidemic. I extensively cover the heroin crisis within the Tri-State area, offering exclusive and untold stories of the addicted, the recovering and their families. Read more at WCPO.com/Heroin • Digitally curate all of my stories, photo essays and videos in the CMS, including editing media, hyperlinking and embed coding. • Investigated the death of a Kentucky police officer in multimedia project Exit 34, in which I retraced the last 24 hours of the police officer who was ambushed and killed on his way home after his shift, in an in-depth, multimedia, long-form narrative story. Read more at WCPO.com/Exit34 • Created a weekly Northern Kentucky Voice feature that illuminates someone in the region who should be heard. • Created an award-winning black and white photography feature series called In Focus that aims to strip away society’s label from the subjects, bringing the person and their voice into focus.

Created a position in which I covered all public relations for a non-profit that trained and placed service dogs with children with disabilities: • Photographed all dogs from birth to home, special events, media stock photos, all website photos and class and graduation photos. • Wrote stories about children, dogs, volunteers and staff, press releases and all articles in newsletter and websites. • Updated two websites with photos, articles, news and a blog. • Worked with families to tell their stories for fundraising efforts from beginning to end • Created and maintained several social media sites, including three Facebook pages, Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. • Organized the first annual 5K fundraiser. • Created and composed bi-monthly newsletter 4 PawPrints. • Worked with media worldwide for coverage including, The New York Times and CNN.

I edited my video, voiced track each story and fronted it for TV, many times live. I wrote a story for both TV and the WCPO.com on deadline each day. • Nominated for a Regional Emmy for Human Features reporting in first year in TV industry.

• Co-launched, web produced, reported, photographed for the web version of The Kentucky Post at KyPost.com. • Broke news via the website, social media and push alerts. • Live-blogged three trials, bringing the minute-by-minute account of testimony, using intricate details of clothing and actions, from inside the courtroom--won numerous awards for this coverage. • Covered the Kentucky Derby for four years, winning several awards for photography, headline writing and stories. • My coverage of missing Marine Megan Touma was featured on Fox News and MSNBC. • My coverage of missing teenage mom was featured on CNN/HLN’s Nancy Grace three times. • Photographed and wrote a column and fresh stories every day from the World Equestrian Games in 2010 at Lexington’s Horse Park. My coverage won several awards.
