Megan De Souza

I was Assistant Camera to the Director of Photography tasked with doing experimental camera tests for ESPN.

I helped unload gear, moved gear in-between shots. I ushered people in to be interviewed. I assisted the grip team by running equipment and grip and electric back and forth.

I was hired primarily as a photographer. My photoshoots varied from corporate head shots, corporate and private events, commercial photography, architecture and portraiture. In addition to photographing, I also assisted whenever needed and ran B-CAM for commercial productions. I also worked as a freelance editor for ImADgine studios, focusing my skill set on photo retouching, particularly in architecture.

I picked up actors from the airport and drove them to their hotels, then set. I picked up crew from their hotels, loaded in gear and drove them to set. I was wardrobe and props assistant in the morning and in the afternoon I was assisting the production team in helping coordinate over 100 extra's

Summer at the Rockies was a live horse jumping event filmed over 6 weeks. I was camera operator for one of the arena's and I was responsible for my own DIT.

During my internship I worked with the marketing department to develop and film a short promotional video on the process of creating a stop motion animation. This video was about their Coleman account in which they hand-made the entire set, characters included. I was to document the process as creatively as I could but with minimal invasion to the team.

I was first assistant camera and was allowed to run camera B as a Cam Op for a promotional event for Hornito's Tequila.

I helped carry equipment to and from the location. I helped the camera assistant with her duties such as changing of lenses, wrangling shorts, setting up battery village and running the batteries to and fro. In addition to being the dedicated camera PA, I saw to the needs of crew, distributing water, food and shade.
