Direct, produce, and shoot original documentaries for VICE’s daily news series that films across the country and streams exclusively on VICE’s social media channels and digital platforms. Maintain journalistic integrity and brand image while creating visually compelling and engaging narratives that explore timely or underreported news stories and capture culturally relevant events and influencers. Actively involved in all stages of production to ensure final delivery under tight deadlines and within budget. Includes researching stories, contacting potential characters, writing proposals, creating shooting schedules, budgeting, planning travel, hiring crew nationwide, directing field shoots, working with on-air talent, writing voice-overs, collaborating with editors, and sourcing archival footage to facilitate post production. Conduct interviews and make on-the-spot decisions while in the field regarding content, subject matter, creative direction, safety, etc., all in the interest of the unfolding story.

Traveled the U.S. with British stand-up comedian and journalist, Jamali Maddix, exploring controversial groups and ideologies for timely documentary news series airing on VICELAND. Researched salient stories to write engaging episode proposals, coordinated field shoots, found subjects and interviewees, scouted locations, assessed shooting risks, and utilized excellent communication skills to collaborate with Jamali and producers to craft key episodes. Also, served as second camera cinematographer.

Collaborated with the director, cast and crew to bring creative concepts to life and handle logistics, both on-set and during pre-production, for award-winning comedy film.

Worked closely with writers to bring their ideas to fruition under extremely tight deadlines. Coordinated production with Union and Guild casts and crews, ordered gear, secured locations, and served as script supervisor on promotional and on-air segments, often starring A-list talent.
