I am pleased to write this recommendation on behalf of Mr. John Mosetich. John and I first
worked together in 2012 on the feature film ‘Murder University’. He came on the project quite
literally last second to replace an actor who was ill. With ...MORE... less then twelve hours of prep time
between hire and walking on set John impressed us all with his ability to quickly know his lines
and enthusiasm jump in feet first for an intense day of filming.
John’s quick thinking and enthusiasm doesn’t just apply to acting, as John is also a very hard
working crewmember. After ‘Murder University’ I worked with John on a few small projects of his
own where he proved to an excellent film director. An actor himself, John knew how to
communicate his needs and wants to his cast in a language they easily understood. He could
pull truly emotional work from his actors with the subtlest of direction, a skill to be admired.
In 2014 John delved into the film department he shines brightest in: G&E. Over the last two
years John has served on my crew as either Gaffer or Grip on five feature films. All of John’s
best attributes come together to make him not only the person you want on your team but also
the person you need on your team. He is always the first person to jump up to do a task, he
adds his subtle touch to whatever task you ask of him thus making it better then you imagined
and John is always thinking of upcoming potential needs for this setup or the next.
As John continues to learn and hone his skills as both a Gaffer and Grip I am confident he’ll
become a hot commodity in the New England Film scene. As much as I would prefer he always
be available for projects I helm as Cinematographer I know John has the skills to be very
justifiably in high demand.
I, therefore, offer my recommendation for Mr. John Mosetich without reservation.
