The Digital Content Producer will be expected to deliver informative, accurate and in-depth local news content on a daily basis and work alongside other journalists in a fast-paced newsroom.
- Report local news to our audience through written stories, video and other forms of ***
- Take an active role in discovering, tracking down and confirming information
- Contribute to the editorial process and make sound decisions during breaking news situations
- Help our content desk make calls, take calls, and monitor police scanners and social ***
- Work to grow our audience and ensure our content is distributed effectively and creatively
- Track which topics are of interest to our audience and deliver content accordingly
Specialized Knowledge/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of grammar, AP style and SEO techniques
- Strong news judgement, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
- Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, adapt and learn on the fly
- Ability to work on your own, as well as collaboratively
- Savvy in social *** tools and best practices
- Willingness to take on other responsibilities as needed, such as running teleprompter
- Video and photo editing skills a plus
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/film or equivalent experience may substitute 2+ years' experience in digital publishing, television or radio broadcast/production.
Training/Equipment: Utilize state-of-the-art web and television technology, video and graphics.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements: High-stress environment with deadline pressures. Flexible schedule and occasional overtime.
