Spotted Fawn Productions (SFP) is an independent and Indigenous-led stop motion animation studio in Vancouver, BC., seeking extremely innovative thinkers who have experience and skills related to the multifaceted medium of stop-motion animation. SFP is starting a new production co-produced with the National Film Board of Canada titled Wheetago War- a stop motion animated short film based on a short story from Richard Van Camp and directed by Amanda Strong.

Post-apocalyptic earth is ruled by the Wheetago, the dark spirit of greed which can turn humans and animals into horned merciless monsters, waging a war against the last remaining protectors of magic.

We are seeking two experienced Stop Motion Animators for a full-time, contract position beginning in December 2021 - January 2022 until Summer 2022.

The ideal candidate must have:

- Experience in Stop Motion Animation, as an Animator or Animation Director;

- Good knowledge of a wide variety of tools & softwares;

- Experienced with ball and socket armatures and silicon puppets

- Ideally experienced with “Head Mech” Puppets; and

- Understanding of work in a high-energy, fast-paced film environment.

As part of the Animation team you will:

- Work closely with a Director, Animation Director and Director of Photography on planning, helping with set-up and shooting each shot;

- You will be required to work at the studio in Vancouver, BC;

- Work with a pre-established schedule; and

- Troubleshoot any potential setbacks.

Remuneration to be determined based on experience. This contract position will be paid on a semi-monthly basis.
