We are in search of local camera assistants to help in working with us for the 2023 Valero Texas Open @ TPC San Antonio (The Oaks Course) from 3/29-4/2. All camera assistants need to work all days. These positions are great for anyone looking to gain knowledge in television broadcasting or folks that simply enjoy golf.
To cover the general overview of the job description, some responsibilities include:
Golf cart driving
Assist the camera operator with sticks (tripod)
Help replace camera batteries
We would like for people in these positions to wear golf attire; polo shirt preferred. No cargo pants or no cargo shorts, no tee shirts, no jeans, or no leggings can be worn on the course. Please wear athletic shows, no open toe shoes. It is encouraged to wear a hat/sunglasses if it is due to be a sunny day.
Here are more details on these positions:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license.
2. The position pays $20 per hour and they are guaranteed a minimum of 8 hours per day. Overtime begins after 8 hours in a day and also after 40 regular hours in a week. Double time starts after 12 hours in a day. We are on a payroll system so they will be paid by direct deposit the following Friday after submitting their hours by Monday after the tournament.
3. Wednesday is a rehearsal day and the local cart drivers/camera assists usually only have to work a half day (but are paid for 8 hours). It is typically a noon or 1pm call time followed by a few hours where they will meet the camera person, get acquainted with the golf course, learn the position and rehearse. Thursday through Sunday are air days and will be long days with early call times.
These are local positions so there is no compensation for travel, hotel, per diem or expenses.
