ROLE: SHOP TECHNICIAN
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
• Assemble camera and lighting packages according to the client and director's requirements, and provide input and suggestions based on your expertise.
• Collaborate with clients and directors to offer solutions and troubleshoot issues during pre-production and on set.
• Organize and maintain HSC's camera, lighting, and grip packages, and develop systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnose equipment issues on set, coordinate equipment repairs and rentals as necessary, and stay current on the latest equipment and technology.
• Research and test new equipment to help HSC stay ahead of the curve and provide recommendations for equipment purchases and upgrades.
• Work closely with other team members, such as camera operators, sound recordists, and grips, to achieve high-quality results on every project.
• Driving large vans or box-truck to and from shoots, picking up/returning equipment rentals, and transporting crew and gear to Airports for travel jobs. Driving passenger van with crew, clients, and talent on shoots.
• Potential travel out of state and internationally for shoots for multiple days.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in film, communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in the film and video production industry.
• Proficiency in operating professional digital cinema equipment, lenses, and accessories, as well as a working knowledge of lighting and grip equipment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate your ideas and solutions to clients and team members.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and move cases weighing up to 70 lbs, and work on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Friendly and supportive attitude, willing to collaborate and contribute to a positive work culture.
• Experience in camera assisting, media management, grip/gaffing, field sound recording, or other on-set roles is a plus, but not required.
• Driver’s License
• Valid up-to-date Passport
Salary compensation:
• Range $45,000 -$55,000.
