Tiny Monster is a rental house and film services company which provides camera rental packages, G&E packages, transportation, and crew for the film and television industry.
We are hiring for the position of Equipment Manager. This is a full time job that requires an organized individual who is technically-minded, detail-oriented, a great communicator, and has solid problem solving skills. The job requires day to day on-site management of Tiny Monster’s rental house located in Santa Clarita, CA. You would be working closely with the Owners, Operations Manager, and prep techs. You must be a leader with self sufficient problem solving skills to successfully navigate this space.
This position requires someone who has 3 years of experience working in a management position within a rental house. The ideal candidate must have experience servicing cameras, camera-related accessories, film lights, and grip equipment. Experience troubleshooting and servicing the following is encouraged: lenses, tripods, monitors, wireless video, cabling, etc.
The wage is $33.00 per hour. This is not an entry level position, so please apply only if you have a minimum of three years experience at a rental house or in the film industry as a 1st AC.
Core responsibilities for the position but are not limited to are as follows:
LEADERSHIP
-Conduct morning meetings with the team.
-Lead, oversee, and assist team members to meet weekly goals.
-Train new staff on Tiny Monster practices – ie, on-call prep techs.
-Keep Tiny Monster’s Operations Manager updated on weekly prep-tech staffing needs.
-Be responsive to company email, Asana, and calls during business hours.
GEAR MANAGEMENT
-Familiarize yourself with the company rental program-- including creating new assets, labels, asset updates, asset
retirement, etc.
-Manage ShareGrid inventory list.
-Assist in creating new orders with the support of Tiny Monster’s full time Operations Manager.
-Initiate and maintain proper check-in / check-out workflow – physically check equipment and test functionality.
-Prep all gear and/or supervise on-site preps, depending on client needs.
-Troubleshoot technical questions from clients.
-Handle equipment maintenance, including vehicle service appointments.
-Handle L&D claims and submit repairs when necessary, including contacting vendor support.
-Keep Tiny Monster’s Operations Manager updated on gear status, needs, and replacement.
WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
-Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
-Be conscious of maintaining a functional and aesthetically organized space for visitors.
-Occasional errands.
-Pickup and return equipment in a company vehicle when needed.
