    • Do you have experience ADing shoots with a very small (4-6 people at most) crew?

Looking for a collaborative and personable assistant director for a microbudget, minimalist feature film shooting in Bridgewater, Connecticut (Litchfield County) - dates are likely late July (5-6 shoot days) but not yet confirmed 100%. The film is nearly dialogue-free and has one on-camera character, telling the story cleaning up in the aftermath of a murder he was paid to commit, and emotionally unprepared to deal with. Most of the filming will take place in a private family home that we will have full access to and entire crew will stay at throughout the shoot. Some scenes to be shot on nearby roads as well.

Ideal candidate would have experience working with very small crews and willing to handle other minor PA duties during the shoot - much of the traditional AD work will be in prep more than anything: joining for location scout, helping schedule the shoot, and figuring out ways to help cut down on costs via creative scheduling (e.g. scheduling all car rig shots for same day so equipment can be returned, scheduling all b-roll for 1st and last days of shoot so actor's work days are scheduled as efficiently as possible and they minimize their days needed, etc.).

Once on set, main AD duties are expected to be a little less traditional / arduous, as the crew is very small, the film only has one character who never speaks throughout the film, and there are likely only going to be 40-45 shots in the entire film, if that. So expectation is tasks more along the lines of coordination of equipment return / pickup, ensuring important time-of-day dependent shots are either done on time or re-scheduled wisely and effectively, and etc. (rather than managing department heads, running the set itself, and ensuring smooth flow of communication between various parts of set - as there really is only going to be one area where the entire production is communing at a given time)!

Please Note: Start Date listed on job is to start initial prep (which will occur sporadically per main crew's schedules, rather than day-to-day), NOT the start date of shooting by any means. We are aiming for a shooting schedule of 5-6 days, with an efficient but detail-oriented prep time ahead of time.

Rate is for 12 hour days, with first 2 hour of OT being 1.5x and anything after time and a half. Travel days paid, all meals and lodging will be provided and paid for by production (three meals a day).
