Assistant Director of Production Administration
RISK MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCTION ADMINISTRATION - 60%:
--Manages all daily operations of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program for SOA film production.
--Advises filmmakers and film artists on safety and risk management for productions. Directs processing of Certificates of Insurance (COIs) through liaising with insurance broker, and releases Production Letters in accordance with CU and SOA Film Program policy.
--Primary contact and liaison with SAG, Materials for the Arts, University Events Management, and other campus production resource partners.
--Manages Worker’s Comp program and liaises with Human Resources for Visual Arts and Theatre Program students in production-related activities. Other production-related assignments as needed.
--Manages advisement of incoming and continuing MFA and Undergraduate students on pre-production aspects of their film productions, including casting, locations, and safety-related preparation.
--Serves as a member of the Production Advisory Board, advising graduate and undergraduate filmmakers on film safety production matters.
--Reads student scripts and advises students on how to produce them according to SOA Film policies. Coordinates administration of the PAB process. Updates information on The Hub website regarding schedules and deadlines for PAB meetings.
--Manages efforts to keep students and faculty informed of all production policies and key deadlines throughout the year.
--Delivers year-round film safety and pre-production education, maintains online resources, and provides production reviews for students for both MFA and undergraduate film production.
FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION AND GRANT MANAGEMENT - 40%:
--Manages student, faculty, and financial processing for all production-related grants, including the Sloan Grant, Production Grants, and Finishing Funds, including application process, application advisement, disbursement, reporting, and stewardship.
--Liaises with the Film Faculty, Chair, Development Office, Principal Investigators, and select donors for all current grants.
--Provides new grant development for Sloan Foundation Grant renewals.
--Oversees budgets for all production grants, including Sloan Foundation, annual Production Grants, Princess Grace, and Finishing Funds.
--Coordinates approval of student grant disbursement according to SOA guidelines.
--Liaises with the Office of Financial Planning to ensure compliance with University policy and timely disbursement of grants.
Minimum Qualifications:
--BA or equivalent professional experience required. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is required.
--Excellent interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and communications skills (verbal and written) required.
--Attention to detail is required. Ability to work independently and under pressure with large numbers of people on concurrent projects with multiple deadlines required. Ability to handle confidential matters with tact and discretion required.
--This position requires a flexible and variable work schedule around the Film Program’s production calendar, with the heaviest production windows from April through July and November through January.
Preferred Qualifications:
--Previous experience in an academic setting is preferred.
--Familiarity with insurance administration, grants management, and film production preferred.
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

We are seeking a seasoned TVC director for an exciting dairy company TV commercial production scheduled in October 2024, in Shanghai, China. The ideal candidate will possess a valid passport and have proven experience in shooting dairy commercials.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Production:
-Lead pre-production activities, including storyboarding and coordinating with the key creatives from the Chinese production team.
-Cooperating with the production team for a comprehensive production plan and schedule.
-Ensure all creative and logistical elements are prepared for a seamless shoot.
On-Set:
-Direct all on-set activities, ensuring that the vision of the commercial is executed effectively.
-Manage the cast and crew, providing clear and concise direction.
-Oversee the setup of shots, lighting, and sound to ensure technical excellence.
-Monitor and adjust the shoot to stay on schedule and within budget.
-Ensure a positive and productive working environment on set.
Post-Production:
-Collaborate with editors and post-production team to ensure the final product aligns with the original vision.
-Review and approve the final edit, ensuring the commercial meets all creative and technical standards.
Requirements:
-Extensive experience in directing television commercials, specifically within the dairy industry.
-Strong ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.
-Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Note:
The candidate will collaborate remotely with the Chinese production team during pre-production. Flexibility with scheduling and an open-minded approach to different industry professional standards are essential.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Travel, lodging, and accommodations will be provided.
