Nitro Circus Media Productions is seeking an assistant editor to join the editorial team in a new short-form action-documentary series.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with organization of the Avid project and support for the editors/post team, pulling bites and making selects, building assemblies, mix prep, and some light editing work. Knowledge of Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects not a requirement, but a plus.

Responsibilities include:
Ingesting, grouping and syncing footage
Transcoding/encoding
Pulling bites, marking footage, creating string outs and assemblies, making cut-downs and scene selects
Light sound design work
Ingestion and organization of archival footage from various sources and frame rates
Outputs for network review
Creation and placement of basic graphics and titles in Avid
Creation of EDLs
Ingestion and placement of music/score
Prepping for online with Avid to Resolve workflow
Prepping assets for audio mix

The post facility is located in Marina Del Rey, cutting in Avid Media Composer in a shared NEXIS workspace. The project runs for 12 weeks from November 19, 2019 through February 14, 2020.

This documentary is about an internationally known artist and the making of his hit song and music video. Please include a cover letter as to why you think you're the right person for this job.

You must use Adobe Premiere Pro for the edit.

We're located in Los Angeles, CA and we'd like to find someone local. But we are open to someone doing the job remotely as well.
