Responsibilities :

Monitor and execute the delivery of content to a variety of linear and digital platforms
Administer the procurement and ingest of source media for all edit sessions
Ensure the continual creation and registration of archival content
Manage, ideate and edit multiple internal videos for our internal All Hands meeting
every two weeks.
Edit videos create lower thirds, title cards, captions, etc. as needed
Assist all editors and audio engineers by prepping new projects for edit and prepping mix files for new edits, including creating proxies.  Comfort working with data transport and storage.
Create final assets once programming is finalized and archive and organize all raw original media.
Pull selected still frames for thumbnail images
Pull marketing selects as directed by Producers/Editors

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years experience working in a high volume post production facility or similar production experience.
Familiarity with various tape formats, file formats, the encoding process, and digital delivery methods.
Experience with navigating and updating media and administrative databases. Google suite, Monday.com or similar systems.
The ability to juggle multiple priorities and communication streams at once through a variety of platforms.
The ability to maintain a professional demeanor during periods of higher-volume work and/or pressing deadlines.
Strong knowledge/ proficiency of Adobe creative suite (most notably Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop), DaVinci, and Final Cut
Experience in motion graphics with strong After Effects skills and experience in
graphic design.
Strong knowledge of post production workflows, asset dams and A/V file management, and proficiency in media management and media sharing systems
Strong knowledge of video and audio codecs and broadcast delivery specifications
Strong communication and organizational skills online and in person
Knowledge of audio programs (pro-tools, Adobe Audition)
Junior Editor experience a major plus
Based out of Bay Area with ability to work on-site on Oakland office

Feature length documentary looking for Premiere based assistant editor to start immediately. Two weeks full-time with the option to extend for 10-week non-exclusive. Large amount of verite footage in multiple languages. For the most part footage has been transcoded and grouped and another AE will be managing additional media ingest duties and adding to the master project simultaneously.

General duties include;

-Responsibility for master footage project knowledge/ access
-Editor /director request support and troubleshooting support
-Exporting screeners for transcription
-Syncing transcript .SRT files with project media
-Correcting any sync issues with previously generated groups
-Updating all relevant documents and trackers
-Consistent and clear communication with other team members on project status

PREMIERE Assistant Editor/Promo Editor

You'll work with an experienced Film/TV writer/director and a top commercial editor to create a new promo package for Summer Stars, a 501c3 performing arts bootcamp for underserved kids. (this is a paid job-- just letting you know the content!)

You will prep documentary footage for a 3.5 minute promotional film, including first pass evaluation of best shots, and binning them for the story we're creating. You will also be the editor for 2-4 additional short web promos we'll create from the footage.

You'll work on your own Premiere system at your home or office. LA preferred to avoid cross-country shipping of hard drives.
