Assistant Editor

Role:
You are the point person for ingest, project prep, and media management for our client-funded digital content, and support our Edit team.

The Ideal Candidate:

You are highly skilled in Adobe Premiere, with a working knowledge of After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. You understand the value of strong standardized workflows and can provide leadership to ensure that best practices are understood and followed. Excellent attention to consistency and detail.

Up to date with modern NLE’s, cameras and codecs. You understand Essential Graphics, Dynamic Linking and After Effects/VFX workflows. You help maintain order on our server, and work with the production and gear team to advise on streamlining production to enter post, including color workflows and proxy workflows, across various camera systems from RED, Arri, Sony, Canon, GoPro, DJI, and more.

Good understanding of round-tripping for color and soundmix.

Knowledge of Frame.io, Hightail, and Dropbox.

Responsibilities:

Work with Producers & Post Coordinator to ingest new media and assets, sync, organize and prepare Premiere projects for edit. You will create string-outs for transcription and producer review, and generate proxy files as needed.

Upon picture-lock, generate final deliverables and wrap-out completed projects, including creating masters and sub-masters with split-track audio.

Monitor available space on the server and work with the Post Coordinator and Archival team to archive old projects and free up more space.

Ensure music/sfx log is maintained.
Ensure stock footage is logged and purchased.

Job Description
Finance news brand is seeking an experienced video editor to edit engaging, informative and timely video features, recurring series episodes and in-depth interviews. The video editor will regularly work on segments ranging from eight to 10 minutes with opportunities to expand stories to 25 minutes for OTT platforms.

These originals will be expected to capture viewers' attention through their sharp perspective, approachable style, and clear relevance to the biggest investments and financial questions investors face. You will help spearhead execution across a range of programming formats.
