Looking for experienced Assistant Editor to start as early as 10/25 or as late as 11/1.

Must have at least 2 years of professional experience using Avid Media Composer. Ideally, some of your experience is in episodic. Must be able to work independently, be an excellent communicator, and able to take specific direction. Attention to detail is a must.

The position is anywhere from 11+ weeks to permalance, with a 30-day trial period. Swing shift starts between 12noon-2pm. 9 hour days.

Please provide 3 references (2 or more of which should be post supervisors, ideal).

This job will initially be remote for the foreseeable future, until we can reasonable open up the office, as early as January 2022.

Our office is located in Manhattan and there is an expectation that you will commute to work in Manhattan once it is safe to do so.

Job Description
Finance news brand is seeking an experienced video editor to edit engaging, informative and timely video features, recurring series episodes and in-depth interviews. The video editor will regularly work on segments ranging from eight to 10 minutes with opportunities to expand stories to 25 minutes for OTT platforms.

NewsNation is currently searching for a freelance editor for our national newscasts, for our national newscasts, based in our new New York *** , with the opportunity for full-time staff positions as operations expand.

This opportunity is for someone that doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves and do something few have done before - launch a new 24-hour news network.

Job Description:

Editing assignments will range from quick voice overs, news packaged, to long form documentary style pieces, and maintain sound news judgment
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Q ualifications:

Five plus (5+) years' editing experience in fast-paced live television environment required
Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere.
Must work well in a collaborative team environment, be able to multitask. A pr oblem solver and quick thinker to resolve existing issues and to find work arounds.
Working knowledge of common business software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must be self-sufficient and have a "press-on-regardless" attitude.
All day parts (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) may be a part of the schedule with overtime as situations demand.3
Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field preferred.

Requirements:

Strong analytics experience using Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and other analytics tools
Exceptional writing skills, including SEO expertise, with the ability to capture and effectively convey brand voice
Strong attention to detail plus hatred of typos
Energetic, well-organized, and proactive team player
Basic Photoshop, Canva, and CMS skills are preferred
Familiarity with social *** publishing platforms such as Dash Hudson and True Anthem is a plus

Pay Range
Salary: $62,400 - $77,520

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The Video Editor reports to the Creative Director and will be responsible for internal and external video content that is featured on websites, social *** and other marketing collateral.

Essential Functions
