Academy Award-nominated production company, The Documentary Group, is looking for an experienced AE to help out on a 5 part docu-series for 2 weeks. Particularly someone who has experience with documentary shoots.

Rate: $300/day
JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field/Production
- Ingests, syncs and groups all footage from the field.
Post-Production
- Set up: Gets caught up on the assets and files of Avid projects for the project. Coordinates with Lead AE and TDG on project organization.
- Provides daily assistance to editors through editorial support that may be needed, (ie. story preparation and sound design etc.).
- Monitors assigned edit suites and media storage to ensure that all editors are following proper editorial workflows.
- Responsible for daily project back ups.
- Responsible for the basic support and maintenance of the offline edit suites to assist with the timely and efficient delivery of programs.
- Coordinates with Lead AE on outputs of sequences for FTP delivery.
- Keeps post tape logs and documents up to date.
- Coordinates with editors, Lead AE on the export of music reference sequence for composers.
- Stays updated on changes in editorial and programming goals.
- Imports composed music cues and graphics from third party vendors.
- Maintains awareness of title safe delivery specifications.
Position reports to: Producer, Director and Lead AE
EXPERIENCE
Must Haves:
- Minimum of 3 years working as a Assistant Editor
- Minimum of 2 years working in Documentary
- Familiarity with Avid Media Composer,
- Strong communication skills
- Proactive, organized, detail-oriented -- able to juggle multiple task simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, taking ownership when needed
Great-To-Haves:
- Interest in the verite landscape.
- Familiarity with Proxy Creation in Resolve
