Assistant Editor
Seeking a Day Time Assistant Editor. Candidates should be team players, extremely proactive, and strong communicators. Candidates must have hands-on professional TV experience. Ideal candidates thrive in high-pressure collaborative environments and are motivated to grow in post-production.
The most important qualification is to be able to assess a task, flag issues immediately, and execute tasks thoroughly according to the show’s protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess extensive knowledge and understanding of the following:
Adobe Premiere, After Effects, & Adobe CC Suite
Codecs, common video file formats, and conversion tools
All candidates must be technically inclined / able to pick up the following software:
OSX Terminal Commands (eg: rsync) and Automator
MPEG Streamclip
PluralEyes
Duties Include:
Creating and maintaining projects for transfer of materials to editors
Ingest, logging, syncing, and organization of all media
Subtitle, L3rd, and basic graphic generation
Handling file conversions, compressions, disc authoring, and uploads
Distributing edits and assets to editors and members of the production team as needed
Basic image correction (i.e. blurs, dead pixel fixes, stabilizations)
Quality control: review cuts screened or exported during your shift for all elements (technical / spelling). Must become familiar with the show’s protocols and style guide
Regular and thorough communication with post production management
Maintenance of digital assets, organizing and updating logs and facilitating regular backups
Assisting editors with selects, paper cuts, and laying in VO
Technical support with deliverables or workflow projects as needed
Must possess knowledge of the following camera formats and importing workflows:
Sony FS7 (MXF and ProRes workflows)
Sony A7S
Sony FS5
