Job Summary/Description: **** 11 News is seeking an experienced Multi *** Journalist/Reporter to join our team in beautiful Southern Colorado! The ideal candidate will be responsible for covering local news stories on-air, online, and on our 11 Breaking News App. You must be a team player, able to juggle multiple deadlines, and have experience covering breaking news. We are seeking someone who can shoot, write, and edit for TV and all digital platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Shooting, writing, and editing daily content for newscasts, website, and social
- Report live from the field for both planned and breaking coverage
- Develop and maintain contacts with local newsmakers, sources, and experts
- Pitch story ideas in daily editorial meetings
- Deliver content with clean, engaging, and thoughtful delivery
- Write and post real-time updates on digital and social platforms
- Engage the audience through social channels and personal appearances
- Performing other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements:- At least 2 years as an MMJ in a television newsroom
- Journalism or Communications degree preferred
- Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems
- Must have a good driving record
- Knowledge of ENPS is a plus
- Competitive, energetic and self-starter
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Self-starter, motivator: Inspired to perform without outside help
