Associate Producer for Bay Area Documentary

The Ace in the Hole team is seeking a Bay Area-based associate producer to help guide our documentary through post-production. The ideal candidate has a passion for art, film, and community maker spaces. The ideal candidate also has 3-5 years’ experience in documentary post-production, a connection to community art spaces in the Bay Area, and, like us, has the desire to positively change how our culture values creative spaces and the communities that rely on them. We are looking for a strong, organized and collaborative partner who can join our dynamic team and help take this film over the finish line in 2021.

Responsibilities include:
Project management
Post-production coordination
Maintaining timelines - keeping the project on schedule
Maintaining the budget
Social media planning
Archival research
Helping to run a crowdfunding campaign and other fundraising efforts
Grant writing and tracking
Rights clearances
Festival submissions
Coordination of final deliverables
Oversee administrative tasks and team

Required skills:
Knowledge of post-production workflows
Proficiency on Slack and Google Drive
Indie film fundraising experience
Collaborates well with a team
Social media acumen
Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive

Part-time: $35/hour

Approximately 20 hours/week

Covid Precautions: Our team members currently work remotely for the time being, but we have an office space in the Mission district. Occasionally, some of us go into the office, with strong COVID precautions in place. As conditions improve, we may consider meeting in person for working sessions.

This Associate Producer will be responsible for creating content to support original videos. The role will require the ability to juggle multiple projects, assist with research, casting/booking efforts, element pulling and working closely with video editors, producers, talent and outside vendors. The Dateline team is seeking an Associate Producer for a fast-paced weekly production. This is an ideal position for an assistant producer wanting to hone their news chops. The AP will contribute to production and promotional needs, and work with other podcast properties under Dateline to help drive expansion.

The Associate Producer will be expected to research, gather tape, write comprehensive prep and collaborate with the team to develop the direction of the show. The AP must be up for a challenge, great at multitasking and excited to work with Dateline's digital team to support the marketing of the show.
