The Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission (FTC), located in West Palm Beach, Florida, is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented and energetic Associate Producer for the 27th Annual Palm Beaches Student Showcase of Films (SSOF). The SSOF is a signature event of the FTC and is Florida’s largest student film competition and awards show.

Responsibilities for the Associate Producer include organizing student entries internally and on Film Freeway, coordinating/organizing judges, presenters, schools and student finalists/winners, creating the event program, deploying invitations and press releases, ordering collateral and awards, writing correspondences and helping in the overall logistics of the film competition and the live award show. Applicants should be proficient in Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be a consummate team player and have experience with event planning.

The Associate Producer is a part-time, contracted position that pays $2,500 a month for a total of $15,000 for the six-month contract. Applicant must be able to attend meetings and event coordination site visits in person in the Palm Beach County region.

The Associate Producer is responsible for the successful coordination and execution of a show. The role of the AP is to work with the Producer in preparing the editorial content for the broadcast, assist with the management of different aspects of the production in coordination with internal support areas.

Job Duties:

Assist in all aspects of production and ensure that all information is sound and accurate while finding innovative ways to execute productions.
Required to be in the control room and have complete knowledge of the control room environment.
Responsible for producing breves and promos needed for broadcast and digital platforms.
Assist in the creation of headlines as well as any other content that is needed.
Coordinate specific production needs for broadcasts, including editing and control room areas, technical production, and graphic departments.
Assist in scripts (including writing) and the editing of a story.
Verify sponsored elements and traffic instructions leading up to the broadcast.

Prepare original editorial content for the show, including but not limited to selecting sound bites and footage for a piece. Prepare research for stories or segments as needed.
Prepare and fact-check all show graphics and segments.

Job Description

The Associate Producer is responsible for the successful creation, coordination and execution of a show or segment for TV or Digital Platforms. The role of the AP is to prepare the editorial content for the broadcast both for linear and non-linear platforms, also to assist with the management of different aspects of the production and coordinate with internal support areas. Associate Producers are expected to serve as live graphics producer. Also, produce short form content and segments, including but not limited to soccer tactical analysis using various software and production tools to that end. Job Duties:

Meet with Producer and Area Managers to review production schedule, as well as editorial content for upcoming shows.
Coordinate specific production and staffing needs for broadcasts, including editing and control room areas, technical production, and art departments.
Verify that all in-show production elements are ready for air, with special attention to sponsored elements. Review traffic instructions leading up to the broadcast.
Prepare original editorial content for the linear show and digital extensions both locally and on the field, including but not limited soccer tactical analysis, selecting, translating, and transcribing sound bites and footage for a piece. Prepare research for stories or segments as needed.
Write and supervise scripts, and the editing of a story.
Meet with show director and technical crew to go over show details. Meet with show staff to verify production assignments. Prepare and fact-check all show graphics and segments.

Attain a complete knowledge of all show elements; how they work and how they are applied within the various shows.

Qualifications
