Responsibilities The Camera Operator will be responsible for the use of a hard camera (Studio Pedestal and Tripod) and hand-held camera. The camera operator will also ensure all equipment is ready for use & in working condition.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure equipment related to the day's assignment is in working order such as studio camera and related equipment.
- Follow Show Director's commands and react appropriately in live broadcast scenarios when unscripted situations develop.
- Work within our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines when it comes to safety in the workplace.
- Follow daily protocols when it comes to punctuality, timesheets, and responsibilities.
- Crosstrain in other technical production areas to broaden skill set. Any training must be discussed with the Director, Production Management prior to doing so to ensure proper communication and planning.
- Work and foster a team environment and help out in all areas of Technical Production.
- Have an understanding of all camera features, including electronic features, such as safe settings on the viewfinder, image controls (brightness, contrast, etc.), intercom and filter settings.
- The candidate should also be proficient in performing various pedestal moves, including dolly, truck and boom.
- Works under the direct supervision of the Director, Technical Production and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements • Must have at least 3 years studio camera experience.
• 2+ years' experience in a television production environment, or an equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology.
• Ability to multi-task in a live and fluid environment.
• Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
• Exhibit the interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization within various departments.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems.
• Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends and/or late breaking news.
• Must be willing to travel (including internationally) as needed, sometimes on short notice.
• Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, frequent standing.

• Must be 18 years or older
