The Job Details:

LiveControl is the future of remote video production at scale - remotely operating thousands of services across the country and live streaming those events around the world. From the comfort of their own homes, the Remote Camera Operators are the ones who produce the cinematic quality shoots for our clients.

Using LiveControl’s proprietary system, a Camera Operator can remote into any of our client’s locations to produce a live event. Every location will have up to four 4K PTZ cameras that integrate with the LiveControl software.

A remote Camera Operator will be in charge of deciding how best to pan, tilt, zoom and cut between our cameras for Produced Events that LiveControl will simulcast to Facebook, YouTube or any custom destination our clients desire. We have locations in almost every state and thousands of viewers across the world.

Responsibilities:

Essentially, the Camera Operator is responsible for proactively signing up for scheduled Produced Events, completing a “Preparation” sequence before the scheduled start time, escalating any issues to Event Support promptly and operating the cameras for the duration of the event.

While we have events every day of the week, most of them occur between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening. You can sign up for as many spots that fit your schedule and our Scheduling team will assign based on needs, performance quality and in order of communicated availability. Ideally, you will work several live events each week and multiple events on the days you are available.

• Operate remote cameras during Produced Events (average length of event is 1.5 hours)

• Remotely log into locations for Produced Events during a Pre-Service Prep: 30 minutes for 2 Cam, 45 minutes for 3 or more Cams

• Communicate proactively and clearly with Event Support

• Compose and frame shots with multiple PTZ cameras, applying technical knowledge to adapt to various lighting and environmental differences across clients and events

• Utilize the LiveControl software to create dynamic camera movements and cuts that follow and enhance the flow of the Produced Event

• Confer with Event Support to implement client preferences, cue sheets, camera movements and resolve technical issues

• Optional: Participate in focus groups for new product and software launches (help us build the tools of the future!)

Requirements & Skills:

• Must be available to (remotely) work at least 4 hours between December 24-26

• Must have access to a working PC or Mac and have a very reliable (hardwired) internet connection: at least 30 mbps Up, 20 mbps down

• Successfully complete Operator Onboarding and Zoom Training

• Degree in Film Production, Editing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

• Fluency in English

• Excellent written communication skills

• Most Produced Events are Friday-Sunday - availability during this time will ensure you are assigned to operate

• Experience in live streaming or live productions

• Experience with OBS, Wirecast, Avid, FCP, Adobe Premier, DaVinci Resolve, Twitch and other editing/streaming platforms is strongly preferred

• Proficiency with computers and self diagnosing common issues like a poor internet connection

• Passion for film, cameras, technology, streaming and live events!

  • Quick pitch: how do these credits show that you are right for the job?
