JOB DESCRIPTION *** Sports is seeking a Director, Remote Integration Engineering to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The Director, Remote Integration Engineering will be involved in the day-to-day support and decision-making of all our Remote Productions coming through the Pico Facility in Los Angeles. This role will oversee an Engineering team supporting remote live productions. This role would also be working in partnership with *** Sports Field Operations and *** Sports Production teams in a very collaborative environment helping craft together requirements for getting our productions on-air.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Directly oversee the Home-Run Production Engineering teams that support the day-to-day operation of all "HRP" Production coming through the Los Angeles Facility
Directly oversee the "Vault" or Remote Truck Integration Engineering teams supporting our day-to-day operation of Remote Truck integrations through the Los Angeles Facility
Work very closely with Field Operations/Engineering on technical requirements, scoping, and needs from Production for technical support
Provide mentoring and performance management of all direct reports and look for broadcast operational efficiencies, recommend new technology strategies, and help define requirements from Production teams either for Network, Cable, or Crown Jewel Events and provide direction to the team on the execution of these events
Directly be involved with any hiring, scheduling, and staffing needs for Engineering areas supporting HRP or Vault/Remote Integrations
Work collaboratively with *** Sports Engineering Management on upcoming projects, production deadlines, and decision-making affecting the on-air product for *** Sports
This will also cover technical requirements for things like Remote Announcer integrations, or any remote production or gear that needs to connect back through the Pico Facility
Oversee the technical maintenance of any technical infrastructure being deployed remotely out in the field for Production or HRP Events
Create and develop Standard Operating procedures for maintaining technical operations of our Remote Events coming into Pico either means of Home-Run Production or Remote Truck Integrations
Serve in a problem-solving manner, communicating potential solutions with Production and Field Operations in conjunction with Sports Engineering teams
**** YOU **** NEED - 5+ years of experience in live sports broadcasting
- Previous experience integrating, implementing, or refreshing a broadcast control room, including familiarity with the modern broadcast cabling infrastructure used in broadcast environments
- Previous knowledge and understanding of managing SMPTE-2110 infrastructure within a facility
- Intimate knowledge of remote and studio live production, including previous experience working in the remote broadcast field
- Strong knowledge of production workflows, HD/UHD/HDR/4K production
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative, crisis management environment

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $136,000.00-182,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
