We are looking for a Director of Development. Must have proven experience in UNSCRIPTED TELEVISON development with additional experience in Scripted Television, Digital, and Features a plus. Needs to have a deep knowledge and understanding of the current US and international markets with relationships in both the network and streaming worlds. Position is based in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new ideas for both US and international markets spanning across unscripted, scripted, digital, and features
- Knowledge of current and upcoming network/streaming buyers
- Maintain and refine development strategy
- Attend pitch meetings to seek emerging talent and projects
- Build and maintain relationships with entertainment network including agents, managers, talent, execs, etc.
- Use relationships to attach to projects and conceptualize ideas
- Develop pitch materials including one-sheets, decks, and sizzles
- Oversee creative on projects in pre-production, production, and post
Requirements:
- Substantial unscripted television development experience in all genres; work in scripted television, digital, and features is an added plus
- Creative ability to continually generate ideas and formats and develop them to pitch standard
- Understanding of the production process and how it impacts creative
- Strong knowledge of the US and international markets
- Solid grasp on current TV trends
- Critical thinker and motivated to take initiative in their role
