We continue to seek a full time director of development who can help us get to the next level with creating documentaries and documentary series for cable, streamers and festivals.
Our small company has a long track record producing documentaries. We continue to seek someone with extensive experience in this space developing documentaries, writing pitches and doing basic production work associated with development. Our small company is hoping to increase its slate of independent documentaries and series.
Applicant should have experience
- Concepting ideas for new documentaries
- Some field or post experience
- Writing treatments
- Experience and knowledge of the film festival circuit
- The ability to Skype and record and do basic (very basic) cuts
- A true passion for their work
- Knowledge of the buyers and who is buying what.
We are based in the NY/CT area and while we are remote for now, there is a chance that we would be back in the office at some point. For this reason, it is best the applicant live in the tri-state area but not absolutely required.
