People of Color Productions is looking for a Director of Photography for the up and coming queer/trans people of color documentary feature, "I Identify as Me."
This is a nonprofit social justice project. Open to negotiate the daily rate; discounted rates are eligible for tax write-offs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Minimum one-year experience with vérité documentaries
• Have equipment with the ability to shoot in 4K and/or HD
• Collaborate with Directors/Producers to supervise crew
• Collaborate with Post Supervisor and Post Production team
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Very passionate about LGBTQIA+ and people of color issues
• Visually creative and loves experimental projects
• Strong technical camera operating skills
• Able to work well with a team
• Self-Starter
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to provide a comfortable environment for cast members
• Attention to details
• Good organization skills
Preferred Skills and Abilities
• Experience filming a feature film
• Degree in Film, Art, and/or Photography
• Excellent written and verbal communication
About the Film
The "I Identify as Me" documentary celebrates queer/trans people of color (QTPoC) who are masculine-presenting/gender fluid women or gender-nonconforming people. The vision of the documentary is to educate while challenging societal ideals around the importance of embracing the ambiguity of gender.
