Job Title: Director of Photography (DoP)
Project: Conference Coverage
Duration: 3 Days / based on a 10 hour work day (Including 1 Prep Day for scouting + gear prep)
Overview:
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Director of Photography (DoP) to join us for a three-day conference shoot, which includes one prep day. On the prep day, you'll get a chance to review the event layout, plan your equipment setup, and coordinate with our team. Day one will involve filming interviews with attendees and capturing B-roll footage for the reception event and TBD luxury properties. You’ll handle setting up and lighting the interviews and collaborate with a second camera unit for different angles. Day two will be all about capturing the lively atmosphere and key moments of the conference.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration:
*Work closely with our production team to bring the creative vision to life and stick to the schedule.
*Provide input on shot composition, lighting, and other technical aspects as needed.
*Coordinate with our team to finalize the shooting schedule and logistics.
Prep Day:
*Review the event layout and plan camera and lighting setups.
*Test equipment to make sure everything is in top shape.
Interview Filming (Day 1):
*Set up and film interviews with conference attendees, ensuring excellent video quality.
*Take charge of lighting to ensure great visuals.
*Work alongside the second camera unit to capture varied angles and perspectives.
B-Roll Footage (Day 1):
*Capture additional B-roll footage related to the interviews, including close-ups, cutaways, and context shots to add visual variety and enhance the story.
*B-roll at any properties or event receptions.
B-Roll Footage (Day 2):
*Gather comprehensive B-roll footage of the conference, including the overall atmosphere, key moments, and various activities.
*Capture diverse and engaging shots that showcase the event's full scope.
Equipment Management:
*Set up and break down all necessary camera and lighting gear.
*Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and suitable for both interviews and broll.
Time Management:
*Complete all filming tasks, including setup and breakdown, within the 10-hour timeframe each day.
Requirements:
*Proven experience as a DoP, especially with interviews and B-roll.
*Proficiency with camera, lighting, and audio equipment.
*Strong understanding of shot composition, lighting techniques, and framing.
*Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
*Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
*Availability for a full 10-hour day, including setup and breakdown time, plus one prep day.
