Philly production company looking for a motivated, talented, experienced AVID Editor to joins its team. This person will be responsible for covering segments, producing creative transitions, and assembling acts / entire episodes. Avid experience and efficiency are both a must.
The position requires that you edit while understanding and considering the story being told. We’re looking for someone that tells stories visually and will take the time to find the best coverage. In other words, we’re looking for an editor that’s also a thoughtful decision maker.
Additionally, you must be highly organized, creative, and be able to work autonomously for periods of time while maintaining productivity. The ability to receive feedback and apply it to your work is essential.
General Responsibilities:
Cover segments in AVID
Conceive of and produce transitions without the guidance of Story Producers
Ability to address notes on your work and the work of others
Capable of editing at various stages of post-production (Rough Cut, Fine Cut, Notes, etc.)
Work with EPs and other story producers in constructing act breakdowns and narrative arcs
Maintain the team’s organizational workflow within AVID and cloud-based documents
Make creative decisions that contribute to the success of the final production
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of AVID experience
5+ years Reality TV / Follow-Doc TV experience preferred
Requirements:
Must have your own computer, Internet access, and ability to work remotely (you do NOT need to own AVID software). That said, a willingness to work from a clean and safe edit environment in our offices will be considered.
Flexibility with your hours (you may be asked to work 4pm – 1am or 7am – 4pm)
Strong sense of how music and sound design work together to assist in creating a compelling story
Understanding of and experience with post-production workflows
Meticulous attention to detail and time management
Sharp analytical abilities and proven problem-solving skills
Ability to pivot, change plans, think outside the box, and roll with the ever-changing world of production
Exceptional communication skills
