GreenLeaf Productions is looking for an Avid editor with experience cutting for a hour format show for a network. Starting around mid-June we will be in need of Avid editors for a true-crime series that will be airing on A&E Network. Preference will be made to editors who can work in the office at our Bethlehem, PA location. This is a full time gig for the series running approximately 10-12 weeks. Please include your asking day rate with your application.

Requirements:

- Avid editor
- Docu-series experience editing in a hour format
- Ability to work to a tight schedule and meet deadlines.
- Meeting with the director to determine production vision and continuity with other editors throughout the project

We filmed a live concert in Italy, and a bunch of interstitial material in Italy to help create a short documentary. And a long documentary featuring clips from the wife show mixed with footage in Italy and photos. It's about an artist that goes back to his grandparents, hometown and plays a concert in the Piazza of the small Italian town. His grandfather was an opera singer, who immigrated to America 100 years ago, and unfortunately was gaslighting for American France during World War I. He did sing at the Metropolitan opera House in New York City behind world, famous singer Enrico Caruso, but could not continue his career due to the injury, sustained in World War I. He ended up living the last 35 years in his life today veterans hospital in New York City. And now the grandson takes it all full circle back to the hometown Natalie, and plays for the people of which many are actual cousins. We received press in the largest paper in Naples and have a lot of great footage to use. Plus, there's great history to draw from. We also have a lyric video for the next original song release and the one following it within the next few months. There will be more work for the editor if the job goes well and it there is a good chemistry built with everybody being happy working together. We don't have a big budget, but we can discuss it and make sure that everybody's on the same page as far as payment.

Your New Role...

As a Video Editor at *** , you will be required to edit all content and elements for *** 's Amanpour shows for International and for Domestic. You will understand the different demands required to edit both effectively and creatively to deliver the Amanpour edit to *** I and to PBS.

This person will be a key element of a three-person Video Edit team within *** London's Amanpour show teams, collaborating with Christiane Amanpour and all the producers on the creative and editorial direction of the show, as well as advising on aspects of shooting and post-production techniques that will enhance the end product.

Qualifications and Experience...

Deep technical knowledge of all Mac OS and Adobe Premiere Pro is essential.
Knowledge of Adobe After Effects
Thorough understanding of *** management, show archiving and distribution.
Able to adapt to the broadcast workflows upon which *** News programmes are produced.
An ability to organize and *** manage the department's multiple *** projects.
Confident and capable of providing feedback to senior management team on editing or workflow issues.
Adapts well to change and is iterative and flexible with priorities, for example during breaking news.
Willing to travel from time-to-time to work out of normal hours to cover the Amanpour edit needs.

Drive production execution on everything from explainer-style segments to short documentaries (conceptualization, storyboarding, outlining, production, edit & delivery)
Seek innovative and creative ways to tell a story with visual appeal; whether in studio, in the field, or entirely with archival footage and motion graphics (we have an animations department with whom you'd work)
Work under pressure in a fast-paced news environment, while juggling multiple active projects
Use your creative expertise to contribute in development meetings toward editorial campaigns
Contribute to building series treatments, broken down episodically, that tells interesting global stories through the lens of *** (and third party) expert opinions and lived experiences
Build shot sheets, coordinate field production and receive the footage from shoots
Gain an understanding of newsroom initiatives (via your EP) and use knowledge of those campaigns to bring fresh story ideas to the table for series and long-form development
Use your deep technical skills within Adobe Premiere and After Effects to color correct (footage shot on Sony, Canon, Blackmagic) and audio mix your stories in a substantive polishing & finishing stage
Work under pressure in a fast-paced creative environment

You'll need to have:

8+ years of experience in video production/post-production within a news organization, digital publisher or production company
A refined sense of visual news stories and ability to give fresh angles on them
The ideal candidate can take a video from pitch to publish, if called upon
A love of storytelling, the production experience and an understanding of global trends
Video editing experience within Adobe Premiere and the broader Creative Suite
Camera know-how and field shooting/producing is an asset (Sony & Canon)
Strong communication skills with excellent writing and collaboration skills
Strong attention to detail, news judgment and compelling editorial pitches
Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and potentially travel
