We are looking for an editor with experience creating content for Digital Platforms. As the Freelance Video Editor, you will use your expertise in editing and video production to compile content and deliver short-form video deliverables that showcase the work of top TV and film actors. Candidates must have strong editing and post-production experience, as well as tremendous communication skills as the nature of this project is collaborative. We use Adobe Premiere and other Creative Cloud products. Knowledge of After Effects and or a Motion graphics skillset a major plus.
Content will be entertainment and celebrity based, so background in entertainment also a plus. Scope
Spiegelworld is looking for a Video Editor to join its newly created Unscripted Television Unit in Las Vegas which will tell Spiegelworld’s stories through weekly videos created for its own digital channels and video-on-demand platforms. This position will be responsible for creating a minimum of 20 minutes of new content each week, consisting of video stories which may range in length from 3 minutes to 15 minutes or longer, subject to the individual story. This will involve working very closely with the Series Producer and Shooter Producer to identify, plan and produce compelling stories as they arise, juggling multiple videos at different stages of completion each week. This individual must be a great storyteller who is able to spot the moments and sections of the rushes that help tell the narrative then assemble them in the best order to make a coherent, entertaining, and compelling story. This position will report to the Spiegelworld’s Head of Creative but will also work closely with the team at our external project partner company who will be undertaking creative content consultation and digital channel management on our behalf.
Responsibilities
This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Undertaking all facets of post-production in relation to the Project.
- Documenting internal processes and workflow for consistency and efficiency.
- Communicating regularly with the delivery team and other departments, keeping them apprised of the Project’s status.
- Completing and circulating an email with final picture locked sequence name and location to the delivery team and other departments.
- Performing online and offline editing of the Project; and
- Such other duties that fall within your skill, competence, and training as are reasonably expected in accordance with the requirements of the schedule and budget for the Project.
- Must be able to make decisions and work fast.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
Requirements
- Experience producing a TV / Documentary/ Lifestyle/ non scripted show or series which included credits.
- Experience with Digital Content is preferred.
- Great Storyteller, able to spot the moments, sections of the rushes that help tell the narrative and assemble them in the best order to make a coherent, entertaining, and strong story.
- Strong sense of music and timing.
- Understand how to locate and choose the best music for the stories.
- An interest in circus and performing arts preferred but not essential.
- Must be a self-starter and excellent multi-tasker, full of good ideas and open to new ideas, with strong editorial judgment, and a good eye for spotting potential compliance or legal issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and with our partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always-changing, never dull, creative environment.
- Broad interest and keen eye for stories from various sources is essential.
