Role Details: *** Sports.com is looking for a team member who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. We want somebody who has a good working knowledge of all sports and can write any kind of sports story. In this role, you will have your finger on the pulse of the sports world and the culture surrounding it.
Your Day-to-Day: - Discover stories that are relevant and important to our *** Sports.com audience
- Forecast and anticipate trends in audience interest and consumption habits
- Assign sports stories and edit them in a factual and analytical manner, but also think outside the box while helping create content
- Help formulate informed and entertaining analysis and commentary off the latest sports news and hottest topics
- Manage content on *** Sports.com and help with distribution across various platforms as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
You have -
- A bachelor's degree in journalism or a communications-related field (or equivalent training & experience)
- Minimum 2 year working in a journalism or sports editing-related field
- Two years of experience working in a content management system
- Experience managing a shift of writers or leading an editorial vertical
You might also have -
- A strong portfolio of prior work in a similar field
- Demonstrated ability for strategic editorial thinking
- Schedule flexibility and the ability to work weekends
- Knowledge of sports as aligned to the specific role
