Looking for an editor to finish a 10 minute short film. The edit will already be in a string out for you.

Please only submit if you are a veteran narrative film editor. We will not be accepting any applications without extensive narrative experience.

Please also only apply if you would be able to finish the edit before Dec 25. We have a January 1st film festival deadline so we must have a picture lock cut.

Editor to assist director with practical technical issues and to take a pass at editing a full cut of the film

You will be working in coordination with the Director to help edit the film. You will be asked to assist with practical technical issues as they arise and you will also have the opportunity to take a pass at editing the entire film as well.

I'm looking for a rare breed of person who has a combination of:

1. Strong storytelling skills

2. Strong video editing skills

3. *Preferably* somebody who has experience editing for YouTube, which is very different from Television, Film, and corporate video editing styles



Here's a description of the work I need done from start to finish:

1. Have Google Drive for Desktop installed on your machine

2. Make the root folder of the project "available offline" which will download all the files to your desktop

3. The project will be pre assembled, meaning the 3-4 hours of footage has already been distilled down to a 12-20 minute sequence, and the basic story structure is already 80% there. Your job is to find opportunities to squeeze every drop of life from this sequence, making it able to compete with any viral video on YouTube. This includes scoring the video with engaging music. (Ever watch movie clips without the music track? Ability to choose the right music, and have the music reflect the events of the video in real time is the MOST IMPORTANT SKILL! I have a bank of songs to choose from, with 10 different genres/moods.) It also includes re organizing clips into the order that maintain the tension of the story, and keep viewers watching through to the very end.

4. Watch my most recent videos, and match the editing style of pace, music, humor, animations/motion graphics, crops, sfx, tastefully punctuating the video with drone shots and b-roll, captions etc. (Color grading is not required, I'll handle that)

5. Deliver V.1 via Frame.io, and I'll leave notes for changes. Complete changes, and deliver V.2 etc, usually V.4 is the final edit.

Responsibilities:

NIGHT EDITOR

Western Scripted TV Series looking for a NIGHT EDITOR to work in the Burbank office.

Must be able to start work around 7 PM.

Must know Premiere.

Our agency is seeking a video editor to work with us as a contractor on a long term, part time basis to edit several corporate videos. These are not film or TV projects. Our agency focuses on storytelling for corporations with much of our work focused on overall wellbeing, corporations doing good, and/or outdoor initiatives.

Hourly work is most likely but some projects may be structured in a project based contract. For this role we're expecting someone who is capable of independently executing producer direction in editing. This editor should also be someone who works well in a collaborative environment - occasionally meeting to work together in person.

We are a small, queer-owned documentary production company seeking a freelance Editor for ongoing projects focused on conservation and uplifting diverse voices.

Filming for these remote, single-camera verité style documentaries begins in March 2023. Locations will vary across the country.

While the editing can be done remotely, we prefer candidates based in or very near New York City (including NJ/Newark) so we can meet in person occasionally.

This is for an initial video, but we are in the process of onboarding new clients for next year and currently don't have a go-to editor.....so the work load has a lot of potential. We selected 1 month as we had to select something but this could be ongoing with the right prospect.

Looking for someone who feels like this sounds like fun and would be a good opportunity for them to grow. Looking at about $1200-2000 a month worth of work to start depending on the project. Obviously based on the rate we are not looking for someone with insane experience. Also prefer folks who have self shot and edited their own docs.

Prefer final cut editors but could be open to the right premiere candidate.
