Looking for editors for an award-winning food and travel public television series. Editor must have strong verite and food experience, must be be able to work from home and must use Avid.
Editor will need to take footage and basic description of scene and then craft the story on their own, writing VO placeholders and cutting doc-style. They will send rough cut to producer and then collaborate on fine-tuning story from there. So we are looking for someone with strong ability to tell story without heavy direction at the beginning of post process.
This first project will serve as a trial basis with the hopes of hiring for long term position in 2020.

Job Summary/Description:

**** seeks a dynamic Web Producer/Video Editor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts and online content. This position will also work closely with the Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and news staff on the newscast and web/social *** content. In this position, you will edit video, work within the newscasts as a writer and writer/associate producer, and also develop content for all our digital platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Edit video on a deadline, working with the Producer towards a creative and informative newscast with emphasis on the viewers' interests
• Produce content for ****.com, and promote our coverage on our social *** feeds, funneling the audience to our site and our broadcast
• Adapt to breaking news and developing stories
• Communicate with anchors, field crews, and control room staff

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or a related field is desired
• 1-2 years of experience producing newscasts or news content online
• Must keep up with local, state, national and international events
• Organized; able to work with many personality types
• This position requires someone who can exercise discretion, best judgment, and has solid journalistic/ethical skills
