Better known as The Jimmy Awards, The National High School Musical Theatre Awards are a national celebration of outstanding student achievement, recognizing individual artistry in vocal, dance, and acting performance and elevating the importance of theatre arts education in schools, presented by The Broadway League.
Apples and Oranges will produce all video coverage of the 8-day program documenting 96 nominees from around the country as they work with top musical theatre talent, guests and coaches to learn a full length show that will be presented to a panel of industry judges, and the general public, at The Minskoff Theatre on Broadway.
Video editors will work closely with a team of videographers, the producers and other key stakeholders to create documentary style video packages that will play during the awards ceremony and beyond. Successful candidates should have experience working in a fast-moving environment, delivering broadcast quality content under tight deadlines and irregular hours. Flexible schedule, creative thinking and the ability to work on-site in New York are required. Experience in musical theatre, dance preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Detail-oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills, works well independently, comfortable with high-volume multi-tasking, professional demeanor, great interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to deliver content on schedule
• Experience in docu-reality style television editing or similar fast-moving, multi-cam post-production environment

When applicable, collaborate with graphics editors, sound mixers, and colorists to complete projects on schedule
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years editing experience, primarily in digital video content; past work in a fast-paced, high-volume studio, media company, or post facility environment preferred
Extensive experience with branded content editing
A well-documented history of working in a number of styles and formats is extremely important
