Seeking Talented Freelance Video Editor for Culinary Interview Series

We are looking for an uncommonly talented freelance video editor to edit the pilot episode of a new food / culinary / chef interview series. Experience with editing documentaries or docuseries or reality television a plus.

While our budget is limited as we are a young production company, the project is high profile, the subject matter is fun, and it is likely to see wide distribution. If we like working together, it will lead to additional episodes to edit and potentially a permanent position with network backing.

DETAILS: We will deliver to you approximately two hours of 4K video that needs to be edited down to a twenty-five minute episode. We will highlight the timecodes of key moments in the raw footage and provide an approximate timeline/ordering of the segments and B-roll. You will review the footage and edit it down into a compelling, cohesive whole, providing your good judgement and editing magic (and we do hope you can bring the magic). We will work together to refine and revise.

Footage needs to be color corrected and audio balanced, with some straightforward graphics and animation/movement. Familiarity with simple special effects a plus. Final Cut editors and local NY-area candidates are preferred but not mandiatory.

We expect a few rounds of revisions, so the editor needs to be prompt, easy to work with, and able to start soon and finish in three weeks or less.

FEE: $1,700 flat rate for editing the episode and delivering the 4K HDR Colored Final Edit

TO APPLY: Must submit a resume AND a customized cover letter answering these questions:

1] What skills distinguish you from the multiplicity of video editors out there?

2] What evidence do you have that provide the kind of eye-catching, network-caliber luster that a lesser editor cannot offer?

3] Anything else that we should know?

4] Please provide links to your best editing work.

If we like what we see, we will set up a Zoom interview. We look forward to hearing from you!

Don't stop now... keep hunting!
