*** News Bay Area is searching for a highly motivated Digital *** Producer
Responsibilities Include:
- Posting 5-15 stories and videos every single day
- Building corresponding social *** posts for of all of them.
- Fast-paced storytelling across broadcast and digital platforms.
- Turning stories, tips, topics, and local issues into compelling copy and social *** posts.
- Identifying a compelling, "thumb-stopping" photos to elevate the reach of our content.
- Collaboration with an expert team of journalists passionate about the goal of building the *** News Bay Area brand, "Our stories define us".
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in an online, newspaper, television or radio newsroom is required.
- B.S. or B.A. in Journalism or similar field preferred
Additional Qualifications:
- A proven excellence in promotable SEO-friendly headlines.
- A sense of what will do well in digital and what's not worth your time is absolutely required.
- Demonstrated social *** experience on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
- The Digital *** Producer will have a news background with a story telling skills that hook a reader and leave them no choice but to scroll down.
- Building stories that follow a logical progression and feature techniques that focus on visitor engagement.
- Knows the story isn't ready until it is matched with a powerful Facebook post and Tweet
- Will agonize over a story headline and the SEO in the URL
- Will have a passion for creative story telling across all digital platforms and apps!
- Is eager to be part of a team that innovates and responds to breaking news
- Has the ability to tell what stories and topics will become popular
- Knowledge of AP style required.
- Basic knowledge of HTML.
- Video and audio editing experience required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $65,000.00 - 80,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
