What you'll do:
- Working both independently and with reporters/anchors to produce original business news content, primarily for broadcast and additionally for digital and social.
- Production responsibilities may include research, conducting interviews, writing and editing, field producing and overseeing editing.
- Pitching story ideas and working on assigned stories developed by the editorial planning team.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with, and being knowledgeable of and current on companies in the universe of coverage.
- Communicating clearly with reporter and field production crews to determine best coverage plan and live remote locations.
- Maintaining all video/digital records, feed necessary and relevant video to bureau/headquarters, communicate to editors and/or desk producers how video should be cut/taken to air.
- Communicating with *** News desk editors on available live times, understanding and owning all live hit requests, disseminating hit times to reporter and team on the ground. - Two years as an AP, writer/producer or producer in local news, cable or at the network level.
- Must have strong news awareness and production skills, the desire to work in a 24-hour newsroom environment and the ability to react quickly and calmly to breaking news situations.
- The candidate must be able to handle themselves professionally in changing and challenging situations and be able to react quickly under duress.
- Knowledge of iNews is extremely beneficial.
- Understanding of graphics, social *** and non-linear production is essential.
- Ideal candidate must be aggressive and be able to adapt to changing technology, demonstrate strong editorial judgment and be willing to work whenever needed.
- Candidates must be extremely flexible and willing to support breaking news and coverage needs in all day parts.
- Four-year degree or commensurate work experience.
