How you'll make an impact: *** is rapidly expanding its services to drive further engagement of consumers via smartphones, tablets, PCs, and connected devices, while continuing to maintain and grow its adoption in connected cars. This position will serve as the leadership of our efforts to increase intelligent observability, predictability, and actionability of how our products perform. This position is presented with the opportunity to be at the starting phase of a major replatforming effort across many aspects of our environment, which presents an opportunity to rethink our understanding, processes, and tools. The coverage area crosses the services, data, *** , and client applications that power our automotive and digital experiences, with an emphasis on *** including ads.
What you'll do:- Lead and grow a high performing engineering team focused on widening their knowledge of the environment
- Help lead SLI, SLA, and SLO definition with Engineering and Systems stakeholders
- Lead operational engineering efforts to enhance observability through systems and interactions through *** , content, and ads pipelines
- Focus on customer intent and delight in architecting engineering and specialists activities
Assist in roadmap definition with stakeholders to meet quarterly and yearly objectives & key results - Be responsible for leading ceremony and presentations of roadmaps and status
Coordinate with DevOps teams on model revisions and improvements - Delve deep into process, monitoring, and tooling improvements
- Define advanced and mature approaches and tooling to achieve end-to-end application performance observability
- Collaborate with Data Engineering on enhanced understanding of metrics and insights
- Provide Tier 2+/advanced application troubleshooting and support
- Lead the efforts to understand system interactions for key user journeys
- Work closely with Product and Engineering during the formulation and release of major features/functionality
- Serve as key member of post-incident review and analysis
- Develop custom software tools to enhance productivity and effectiveness
- Drive a culture of innovation and be an agent of change.
- Cultivate a culture that rewards aggressive pursuit of innovative solutions to problems
- Be responsive to the business in proposing and developing new products and services
Identify opportunities to create new products and services that meet current and prospective market opportunities - This role will manage a geographically dispersed team
What you'll need:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management or similar field, or equivalent experience, in lieu of degree
- 5+ years' experience in implementing and providing advanced operational support for *** solutions
- 5+ years' experience managing technical operations teams and engineering teams
- 3-5 years' experience in 24/7 support environment
- Deep understanding of ad operations and insertion
- Deep understanding of the most current AWS concepts and technologies
- Experience and proven track record of maintaining software at scale to millions of active users
- Proven ability to foster and grow world-class operational support
- Excellent managerial skills and interpersonal skills; effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple levels of Business, Product, and Engineering teams
- Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.
- Technical experience in the following areas:
- Broadcast and digital ***
- Content serving and distribution networks
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Jira, Wiki
